CUBA EN LATINOAMÉRICA: Presencia e influencia cubanas en espacios académicos y plataformas generadoras de pensamiento.

Abstract

Desde su triunfo, la Revolución cubana y su influencia en América Latina han sido objeto de análisis desde diferentes posiciones y enfoques. No obstante, los ecos de aquel proceso «revolucionario», que se mantienen en muchos sentidos hasta hoy, cada vez encuentran más contrarrelatos basados en análisis de la realidad del archipiélago. Ante ellos, el régimen cubano continúa sus esfuerzos por exportar la idea de estabilidad, consenso y progresión de su modelo. Sobre todo en el continente latinoamericano, esa exportación continúa teniendo recepción en espacios académicos, organizaciones de la sociedad civil y plataformas generadoras de pensamiento.

Gobierno y Análisis Político AC ha puesto uno de los focos de atención de su trabajo en el monitoreo de la influencia cubana en el continente latinoamericano. Se ha propuesto identificar y analizar en los ámbitos académicos, políticos y sociales del continente, los debates en torno a la realidad cubana. Con ello se pretende evaluar la influencia del régimen cubano en el área y las redes que ha creado para generar y sostener un lobby favorable a la mítica imagen que históricamente ha exportado. El monitoreo permite evaluar si realmente la influencia y el impacto de Cuba en la región es excepcional, o simplemente la magnitud de esa influencia es una construcción más de los aparatos de propaganda e influencia sostenidos por el propio régimen cubano y otros Gobiernos autoritarios de la región que se consideran sus aliados.

Since its triumph, the Cuban Revolution and its influence in Latin America have been the subject of analysis from different positions and approaches. Nevertheless, the echoes of that "revolutionary" process, which remain in many ways to this day, are increasingly finding counter-narratives based on analyses of the reality of the archipelago. In response, the Cuban regime continues its efforts to export the idea of stability, consensus, and progress of its model. Especially in Latin America, this export receives reception in academic spaces, civil society organizations, and thought-generating platforms. Government and Political Analysis AC has one of its focuses on monitoring the Cuban influence in Latin America. The aim is to identify and analyze the debates around Cuban reality in the continent's academic, political, and social spheres in order to evaluate the influence of the Cuban regime in the area and the networks it has created to generate and maintain a favorable lobby to the mythical image it has historically exported. The monitoring allows evaluating if the influence and impact of Cuba on the region is indeed exceptional or if the magnitude of that influence is simply another construction of the propaganda and influence apparatus sustained by the Cuban regime itself and other authoritarian governments in the region that consider themselves its allies.
